Melbourne!

Instead of boring you with the same old tourist pictures from Australia, I'm going to share a picture of the riddle of my life right now - the Aussie toilet.  Can anyone tell me why there are two different buttons?  I've tried both, and they seem to flush exactly the same.  Is one meant to be more powerful for those times when flushing needs more power?!!

We're at the Westin in Melbourne right now.  We sailed the South Pacific the other day.  I felt like a pirate.  Aside from the fact that everyone drives on the other side of the road here, Australia feels very American to me.  Whatever that means.  It doesn't feel too...foreign.  Which is nice because it seems familiar, but one reason I travel is to experience a difference in culture and, more importantly, to eat fabulous food!!!!!  Seriously.  Which is why we are trekking down further south to rain forests, shipwrecks, and the Great Ocean Road.  I can't wait!!

In Australia

It's 5am in Sydney, Australia, and I can't sleep.  The internet costs $24.95 (au) (about 21 U.S. dollars) a day.  I need to find some wi-fi.  Or maybe hang low and be unwired for a couple of days until we hit Melbourne.
Sorry I haven't written in forever.  Honestly, it's been a crazy couple of months for me, personally, mentally.  I have great supporters, and one particularly wonderful supporter - thank you and you know who you are =) 

I'm tempted to purchase a didgeridoo or eat kangaroo, emu, or crocodile tail, but I don't think I'll do any of those things. 
Instead, I'll look for my new favorite frozen dessert, Melona, from Korea's Binggrae.

In Brooklyn.

 If you love Thai food and you're ever in Brooklyn, go to Sea. It's surprisingly affordable for the hip atmosphere and the delicious food. I felt a little lame taking a picture of the bathroom, but I had to:

Male and female both had two little cylindrical toilet areas with an LCD screen inside. There's a communal sink and a lovely chandelier above. The beaded curtain hit my face LOL

I'm living in NYC for the next couple of months, specifically, Brooklyn.  Even more specifically, Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York, in an old building currently being rehabbed, so our apartment is completely new inside. There's even a fire escape LOL

This place is like the stuff my nightmares are made out of!  It's really creepy.  Interesting, but very creepy.  The eerily distorted and out-of-tune organ music, the collection of random stuff (clowns, dollhouses, knights, animal teeth, carousel horses, etc...) mixed with the carpeted walls and the disturbingly OLD scent that lingers around the actual house on the rock make for a once-in-a-lifetime experience of weirdness, sadness, madness, curiosity and cool at the same time.
